Translating the Guru's instructions into various languages is a strategically important direction of Guru Sthana. More and more spiritual seekers from different countries are expressing interest in the Teaching transmitted by the Guru. Therefore, we are engaged in the translation of books, satsangs, lectures, websites, social networks, and educational materials. In doing so, cultural and linguistic characteristics are taken into account to transmit knowledge without distortion.
Without the constant efforts of translators, the world would not have discovered Enlightened Masters. So that people from different countries can become students of the Guru, you can provide support to the translation department through offerings or by performing service. Your contribution to this project will help spread the knowledge transmitted by Gurudev beyond language barriers, opening the path to the Teaching for seekers around the world.
“Long ago, thousands of years ago, the siddhas, gathered at the Great Assembly of Dharma (Dharma Maha Sabha), proclaimed these principles: ‘Arruppadai’ – universal awakening for all beings, ‘Loka-sangraha’ – universal benefit for all living things. And we need to learn to think and act the same way.”
Sadguru Swami Vishnudevananda Giri, The Master's Code
An important part of the Guru Sthana mission is the translation of the Guru's instructions into various languages of the world.
This is a painstaking, responsible, and inconspicuous yet consistently important work that we have also been performing for many years, and which gains relevance with each passing year, as our sangha grows and expands, and the mission of spreading Dharma moves to an international level.
The tasks facing the translation mandala:
1st aspect – translations of Gurudev's books into various languages and their subsequent publication in the respective countries, distribution in bookstores through official literary agencies and major publishing houses.
2nd aspect – translation and dubbing of the Master's lectures – after all, knowledge in the presence and direct transmission of an enlightened master, even through video broadcasts and language overlays, is something that can inspire and awaken very many people.
3rd aspect – managing social networks in international languages – various messengers have long become an integral part of our lives, and we draw a huge part of our information from them.
4th aspect – translation of websites on the teachings, the Guru's websites, as well as, in the longer term, the translation of the entire remote online learning system for the benefit of all living beings…
The complexity of this service lies in the correct, “undistorted” transmission of knowledge, taking into account the mentality and perceptions of people from other countries. Therefore, such translators require not only a high level of language proficiency but also a command of the “spiritual theme” at a certain level.
But if someone did not make constant efforts to translate sacred texts and instructions, the world would never have known the teachers of the Sanatana Dharma tradition, would not have been able to touch the wisdom of the East, and receive those practices (sadhanas) from which most modern systems of self-improvement, yoga, and meditation have grown.
And not one of the modern world teachers would have gained their world fame...
Therefore, we invite you to join this strategically important direction of Guru Sthana for the development of Dharma – through funding and service.
