Anupaya — "the pathless path"
(2025)
That which must be revealed to the heart,
Preserving Sahaja — living awareness.
The true God knows no names and no fetters of form,
The true mantra does not sound in the silence of the lips,
The true method requires no performance,
True meditation is not a practice, but being itself.
The true bhajan is not sung with the voice,
True devotion is inexpressible in words,
The true puja knows no boundaries of the altar.
The true Guru does not teach while sitting on a throne,
And the true disciple does not seek answers in questions.
True Dharma is neither a sermon nor a sound,
True wisdom is not passed from hand to hand.
True Liberation knows no coming and going,
The true Deity is not locked in the stone of statues,
The true Kailas is not hidden in the snows of Tibet,
The true India is not washed by the waters of the ocean.
The true Shastra is in the unutterable word,
True philosophy knows no chapters or sections,
True contemplation seeks no supports or external points,
The true fire of yagya requires neither oil nor wood.
Having realized this mystery, act without limitations:
Recite mantras, weaving them into the breath of the world,
Practice the methods that lead to the threshold,
Sing bhajans, giving your heart to the space.
Manifest devotion and maintain deep reverence,
Perform pujas and homas, lighting the holy flame,
Take Refuge in the grace of the Guru.
Study diligently and become a light for others yourself,
Preach the Dharma, carrying its eternal word,
Let the intention for Liberation become your breath.
Worship in temples, seeing in them the face of the Infinite,
Make pilgrimages to the peaks and ancient rivers,
Study the wisdom of scrolls and the subtlety of judgments,
Contemplate, relying on signs and points of stillness.
And then everything you touch,
Everything you accomplish in this world,
Will become for you true, the only,
Authentic.
