Every First Sunday of the Month
Introductory Meetings for Beginners
An open meeting for those who are just beginning their journey in the tradition. The meeting addresses questions every beginner encounters:
❓ What is diksha, and why should one receive it?
❓ How can one join the tradition and become a disciple?
❓ What does it mean to be a disciple of the Guru?
❓ What rules and vows does a disciple undertake?
❓ What is the difference between the statuses within the community—grihastha, karma sannyasi, and other stages?
❓ How should one prepare for diksha?
❓ How does one begin practicing?
“Becoming a disciple is a mystical process; it is like love. The very moment of vibration that gives rise within you to devotion, love, purity, openness, and trust is the true moment of becoming a disciple.”
— Swami Vishnudevananda Giri
The meeting is led by sannyasi Aravindini Giri.
