This retreat is about a practice that changes lives: habits, reactions, assessments, and relationships with others and oneself are transformed. In our tradition, the 4 Infinite States are a direct connection to the divine energies of purity, harmony, beauty, and freedom.
In the retreat space, we tune into the harmony of our own mind and recognize Love. This is not about "good emotions," but an attunement to the subtle reality of sattva—light, luminous, and clear.
You will learn to immerse yourself in states of consciousness that are called Brahma-vihara in the tradition—“the abodes of Brahma”:
- limitless love (prema, prema-ananda)
- limitless joy (brahma-ananda)
- limitless compassion (karuna)
- limitless equanimity / detachment (vairagya, titiksha)
These states are like the four branches of a mighty tree of consciousness. They reflect our infinite nature and reveal the inner light—Atma-shakti. This is a practice of self-healing and the purification of karma. It changes karmic vision, harmonizes external and internal space, and makes the mind transparent and stable.
“Sending your love, joy, compassion, and equanimity into the surrounding world is the best way to rid yourself of your own selfishness, ignorance, anger, pride, attachment, and hatred.”
Swami Vishnudevananda Giri
The Four Infinites are Anugraha itself—enlightening, blessing grace, the power of the divine that flows to us from higher dimensions. This light possesses the ability to harmonize, purify, and improve the situation and the space.
A meditation recommended for beginners as a foundational practice. It engenders divine pride, fills the heart with Love, and gently opens the natural state.
