Kundalini Yoga is an ancient path to awakening the shakti (energy) hidden within every human being.

In the yoga tradition, Kundalini-Shakti is described as a serpent coiled three and a half times: three coils represent the three gunas, and the half-coil represents the transcendental essence, the state of turiya. As long as the channels (nadis) are not purified, she sleeps. When a yogi awakens her through conscious practice and directs her upward along the sushumna, a profound internal transformation begins.

“Just as a key opens a door, so a yogi, by means of Kundalini, opens the door to Liberation.”

Hatha Yoga Pradipika

This retreat is dedicated to the gradual and safe awakening of Kundalini, the purification of the subtle body, and the harmonization of the movement of prana. The rising of Kundalini is an internal agnihotra, a fire offering to the Supreme, where Kundalini-Shakti herself becomes the mediator between the practitioner and God. Awakening occurs at the arambha stage—the first stage of Kundalini Yoga. At this stage, energy begins to flow freely and harmoniously, a sense of comfort in the body, stability, and inner strength arises, the mind naturally calms, and clarity, joy, and inspiration increase.

A great supply of life force is the foundation of spiritual and material success. When prana is insufficient or circulates incorrectly, meditation becomes unstable, inspiration and enthusiasm decline, and the mind remains restless or sluggish.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga:

  • aligns the flow of the winds (vayus);
  • strengthens sankalpa and its realization;
  • makes meditation deep and stable;
  • unfolds creative and spiritual power.

The rising of Kundalini is the union of Shiva and Shakti, the moon and the sun, consciousness and energy.

What to expect at the retreat:

  • purification of the subtle body channels
  • harmonization of the interaction between energy, body, and mind
  • purification of the chakras from Muladhara to Sahasrara
  • awakening of the sushumna-nadi
  • gradual awakening of Kundalini
